Emma White

3rd Board Member

Ms. Emma “Jean” Hall White, the daughter of Mose and Jimmie Hall, is the second oldest of four siblings and is a life long resident of Grenada, Mississippi. She has two sons and four grandchildren.

Ms. Emma was educated and trained in the Grenada School District and the Grenada Beauty College. She became a licensed cosmetologist during the year 1985 and retired on about the year 1999 due to a significant loss of operable vision, which began around 1994.

Ms. Emma owned her own business and employed and mentored more than twenty newly licensed beauticians during the operations of her proprietorship. In 1999 she attended the Addy McBride Center for the Blind and returned to the Center in 2004 for more training.

Ms. Emma is and has always been a community activist. She is an independent consultant with T! ahitian Noni International. She loves people and gives of herself timelessly. She is a member of Washington Street Church of Christ where she sings with the Group Charity; a member of the NAACP; and a member of the local Democratic Party liaison.

Ms. Emma started the local chapter of the NFB in Grenada, August 2005. She serves as President; and is now a State Board Member of the Mississippi Chapter of the NFB.
