Kendrick Kennedy

4th Board Member

Born in Biloxi, Mississippi, blind since 2002 from a battle with diabetes and kidney failure, I attended Biloxi High School. I am a graduate of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College. While attending Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College I earned several awards an earned and Associates of Art focusing on business. I currently attend the University of Southern Mississippi serving as Student Government Association President and Mississippi A.H.E.A.D. Committee member working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in Management Information Systems

I joined the National Federation of the Blind of Mississippi in 2004 after being awarded the NFB of Mississippi State Scholarship. I currently serve as President of the Gulf Coast Chapter and Board Member of the Mississippi State Affiliate. I am the chair of the newly formed E.U. Parker Memorial Program, which assists members to attend state, and National NFB Conventions. In addition, I am also a mentor and an imaginator. My future goals are to attend one of our countries’ top law schools and work in the corporate law field.

In concluding, my NFB roots have grown strong with guidance from outstanding members from allover the country and especially here in our state. I plan to continue working and being active in the NFB promoting the Philosophy and bringing RESPECT to being blind.
