Ms. Rosie Hardwick

Vice President

Ms. Rosie Hardwick Ford was born in Wilson, North Carolina; however, her parents reared her in Grenada County, Mississippi. She actually moved from Gore Springs, to Grenada in 1987; and has been here the rest of these blessed years.

She attended school at Tie Plant School, Willa Wilson School and Carrie Dotson School, in Grenada, Mississippi

Rosie was a young mother with 3 children when her husband, Elton Hardwick, died in an electrical accident. She later adopted 2 more children; and now has 8 grandchildren. She is a Foster Mother and has had her hands in the lives of more than 44 foster children for 23 years. She also raised a niece and a nephew.

Rosie was employed with the ICS Headstart Program as a Bus Driver until her sight failed her. She retired with 17 years of service. Prior to Headstart, she worked at Pennaco Hoisery Corporation for about 2 years and spent 7 years at the Holiday Inn Hotel.

She has served as an election return officer from 1974 through 2005. She was faithful to this commitment.

She is a member of St. James Christ Ministry in Grenada, Mississippi. Her pastor is Elder Percy Berry. She serves on several boards in her ministry; as President of Glory Youth for 4 years; a former member of the Ebony Club, NAACP and a member of the Women of Wisdom Club.

Currently Rosie serves as the Vice President of the Grenada Chapter of the NFB and as state officer as representing the Vocie of the Diabetic.
